What we're looking for

We're looking for a new public member to join our southern interior technical committee who lives in, or in proximity to, our Coastal Region watersheds (i.e., Bridge/Seton/Shuswap). To encourage geographic diversity, we are encouraging applicants from Salmon Arm, Enderby, Vernon, and Lillooet —these communities are not currently represented on the committee.

As a public member on the committee, you will contribute to annual FWCP implementation, including review and approval of proposed fish and wildlife projects in the FWCP's Coastal Region watersheds (i.e., Bridge/Seton/Shuswap).

We want technical committee members who are committed to reconciliation. Committee members will share our vision of thriving fish and wildlife populations in watersheds that are functioning and sustainable, and they can take a regional perspective to support conservation and enhancement of fish and wildlife. We are committed to representing the diversity of our province and encourage anyone interested to apply, regardless of age, gender, or identity.

Consideration will be given to qualified individuals with a broad range of backgrounds.

Skillsets of particular relevance to southern interior Coastal Region watersheds are riparian restoration, fisheries rearing and spawning habitat restoration, and community-led restoration and ecological projects.

The selection process will recognize lived experience, volunteer as well as paid employment, and academic achievements. Interested applicants must submit a completed application form by 4 p.m. PT / 5 p.m. MT on Monday, September 28 to Coastal Region Manager Mark.Sherrington@bchydro.com
