Sample Collection for Brassy Minnow eDNA Assay
This project aimed at brassy minnow, a species recently assessed as a Special Concern, will focus on collecting samples in the Parsnip River Watershed to develop an eDNA assay.
eDNA analyses for this species could help improve understanding about the distribution of this fish which may be threatened by invasives, droughts, habitat deterioration, and other factors. There is little data currently about this fish and results of this work could help inform future conservation actions.
