Moberly Marsh Floodplain and Wetland Habitat Restoration
This multi-year project will restore 46 hectares of wetland habitat along the Columbia River wetland near Golden.
The project will reactivate natural floodplain processes that have been disconnected from the river by ditches, dikes, and impoundment structures. Restoration will reconnect river and wetland habitats, increase the diversity of native plants, improve water storage, and provide ecosystem resilience to climate change impacts.
Restoration will benefit a diversity of wetland species, including waterfowl, songbirds, raptors, amphibians, bats, muskrat, beaver, deer, elk, cougar, and bear.
