Kicking Horse Canyon Habitat Enhancement Project
The goal of this multi-year project is to maintain previously treated ungulate winter range for Rocky mountain elk in the Upper Kicking Horse Canyon and support habitat connectivity on a landscape scale.
This year the team will maintain approximately 112 hectares of previously treated ungulate winter range by thinning immature forest to help ungulates move through the terrain and detect predators more easily, promote forage growth, and improve forest structure for snow interception.
