Shore Spawning Kokanee Restoration & Research Project: Year 2

This multi-year project focuses on collecting data and restoring habitat for declining shore-spawning kokanee in the West Arm of Kootenay Lake.

In 2020, spawning substrate was added below the low-water mark to encourage spawning in areas not affected by the fluctuating hydrograph. This year, the project will include comprehensive monitoring of the shore-spawning kokanee as well as data collection.
