Grizzly Bear Coexistence Solutions: Year 2

This multi-year project will promote coexistence between grizzly bears and rural residents through education, collaboration, and the use of practical tools, such as correctly installed electric fencing. This will help prevent bear conflicts and associated grizzly bear mortalities in the low-elevation linkage habitats that often overlap with agricultural lands.

As conflicts are reduced, there will be improved grizzly bear conservation status in the region, including enhanced connectivity between core grizzly bear populations.

Prior to watching the recording of the bear safety workshop, it is recommended that the bear safety video at: www.bearbiology.org/about/safety-in-bear-country/ be viewed.

This workshop is geared towards hikers, mountain bikers, hunters, campers, runners, dog walkers, berry pickers, birdwatchers and anyone living, working, or recreating in grizzly bear habitat. Learn how to prevent bear conflicts and how to respond safely if/when you encounter a bear. Safety training will include hands-on practice with inert bear spray.
