Help restore Sinclair Creek near Radium Friday, May 10, 2019  

Since 2016, the East Kootenay Invasive Species Council has been pulling and digging up Field Scabious, along the banks of Sinclair Creek in Radium. With funding from an FWCP Community Engagement Grant, they are now in the final stages of restoration and want your help

Learn how this plant arrived in the area, the impact it has has had on the watershed and how to prevent invasive species. Get your hands dirty and help plant native trees and shrubs along the creek.

The trees will benefit fish, wildlife and trail user. The goal is to provide a naturally diverse streambank free of invasive species.

Dress in layers that include long pants, long sleeve shirt and a jacket. Sturdy footwear such as work boots, mud boots, hiking boots or running shoes are best. Bring a water bottle. Please come prepared for the weather and wear older clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty. Meet at the Radium Info Centre to carpool.
