Columbia Region: New First Nation Board Member

Howie Wright, from Westbank, is the new representative from the Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) on our Columbia Board, replacing the ONA’s James Pepper. Thanks James for all your great work with the FWCP, and welcome Howie!

Howie’s wealth of experience will undoubtedly be a real asset for the FWCP Columbia Board.

He is currently the Program Manager for the ONA Fisheries Department and provides policy and program oversight, and direction, for the Fisheries Program. He oversees a staff of 40 located in Westbank, Penticton and Castlegar areas. He is involved in project and contract management, staff oversight, participation in transboundary technical sessions and liaises between First Nations, Provincial and Federal fish agencies.

Howie has a Master’s of Science in Resource Management and Environmental Studies program with the Institute for Resources and Environmental Studies at the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Canadian Okanagan Basin Technical Working Group.
