New Public Representative Joins Columbia Board

Moss Giasson joins Columbia Board as Public Representative

The FWCP Columbia Board is pleased to welcome Moss Giasson as the newest Public Representative. Moss has been working as an environmental specialist and Professional Agrologist for over 15 years with a career focusing on ecosystem restoration, environmental planning and mine closure.

Moss has spent considerable time volunteering for various societies and committees. This includes holding positions such as Chair for the Society of Ecological Restoration – B.C. Chapter, Chair of the Kootenay Local Agricultural Society, and Board member for Shell Canada’s Western Canada Social and Environmental Funding Initiative. Moss has also been a member on various provincial working groups tackling invasive species management, mine closures and reclamation.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria and is a Professional Agrologist with the British Columbia Institute of Agrology.

Born and raised in the West Kootenay, Moss has fostered a deep connection to the region through many outdoor activities including camping, fishing and growing food. He now lives with his family in Terry’s near the Slocan Valley Junction.

Our 10-member Board in the Columbia Region is made up of three Public Representatives, three First Nations Representative, and two representatives each from BC Hydro the Province of B.C.
