Join us: new board member wanted

New public representative wanted for our Columbia Region board

We are looking for a new public representative to join our Columbia Region board, someone who can bring a regional perspective to the table, represent a broad range of public interests, and make a three-year commitment.

As a member of our board, you will review proposed fish and wildlife projects and join other board members in guiding the work of the FWCP in our Columbia Region. The board’s primary responsibility is to make funding decisions and determine fish and wildlife priorities for the FWCP in this area. In 2023–2024, the board approved approximately $6.2 million for 33 fish and wildlife projects.

Please contact Jen Walker-Larsen, FWCP Columbia Region manager, at Jennifer.Walker-Larsen@bchydro.com or 250-814-6645 for an application.

Apply by Tuesday October 31, 2023, at 5 p.m. PT.

In addition to having a passion for fish and wildlife values in the Columbia Region, the right candidate will be a strategic, forward-looking, and innovative thinker who can collaborate with others and work in a team environment. It will also be beneficial to have knowledge of reconciliation as well as a youthful perspective—the FWCP is always welcoming of young and emerging leaders in the environmental field.

The 16-person board is made up of three public representatives, nine First Nations representatives, and two representatives each from BC Hydro and the Province of B.C. The board works closely with our fish and wildlife technical committees to ensure projects we fund are in alignment with our action plans and reflect regional board priorities.
